Ultrasound & interferential therapy

Therapeutic ultrasound uses sound-wave energy directed into soft tissue. Following assessment, a physiotherapist may use it to support local tissue healing, circulation or reduction of soft-tissue tightness.

Interferential therapy delivers gentle medium-frequency electrical currents through the treatment area. It may help with pain control, muscle spasm or swelling, making movement and exercise more comfortable.

These treatments are not automatically suitable for every condition. Your physiotherapist will explain whether they are relevant and how they fit into the rehabilitation plan.
